The Boston Colonials pay tribute to both the rich sports history of the city of Boston and the sport itself. We have dedicated ourselves to the game as it was played in 1886. Back when it was Base Ball, seven balls earned you a walk and getting hit by a pitch didn't get you a free pass, ballists had to earn everything. There were no helmets. There were no batting gloves. The fielder's glove was little more than a leather strap. We meet teams from around the country who share the love of the game and the tenacity to play as those who came more than 100 years before us. Come see how Base Ball began and enjoy a little piece of history as the Boston Colonials battle for the New England Vintage Base Ball Championship.

Boston defeated by Senators, drop to 1-1

EAST WINDSOR, CT - The Boston Colonials traveled to Connecticut on April 26th for our first meeting with the Hartford Senators of the 2008 season. While both teams swung the bat well, the ageless Senators simply "hit it where they ain't," leading to a 24-3 defeat for Boston and a 1-1 record on the young season. The local nine always enjoy playing our friends from Hartford and look forward to redeeming ourselves in the next match. The Colonials will meet the Mudville Nine for an exhibition May 10th on the Boston Common. The game will be played under the rules of 1858, found here: http://www.baseball-almanac.com/ruletown.shtml. We will return to league action May 17th in Rhode Island against the gentlemanly Game Hens.
